Scene 04 — Logistics
Naha Airport (OKA) — 4km / 15-20 min
Ishigaki Airport (ISG) — 15km / 30 min to town
Miyako Airport (MMY) — 5km / 15 min to Hirara
train
Yui Rail monorail connects Naha Airport to Shuri (27 stations). Only rail in Okinawa.
Crew tip: Monorail useful only in Naha. Rest of main island and outer islands require car.
bus
Bus network covers main island but infrequent. Express buses to major tourist sites.
Crew tip: Buses not practical for production schedules. Car rental strongly recommended.
taxi
Available in Naha and resort areas. Limited on outer islands - book in advance.
Crew tip: Arrange jumbo taxis through hotels or tour companies. Airport taxis available.
ferry
Regular ferries connect main island to Kerama Islands (50 min - 2 hours). High-speed and regular services.
Crew tip: Equipment transport on ferries possible - coordinate with ferry company. Weather can disrupt service.
Main island has ample parking at most locations. Naha city center more limited. Outer islands very easy.
Beach locations often have parking areas suitable for equipment vehicles. Hotels and resorts can accommodate base camp needs. Outer island logistics need advance planning.
Okinawa requires car rental for efficient production. Main island is 106km long - north to south about 2 hours. Outer islands require flights or ferries. Ishigaki to Miyako: 30 min flight. Naha to Kerama: 50 min high-speed ferry. Plan island-hopping shoots carefully around ferry/flight schedules.
