Working with talent in Japan starts with the geijinjimusho (芸能事務所) system. This agency-led set-up shapes how Japanese performers take calls, attend fittings, and travel between sets.

Our coordinators hold working ties with major Tokyo agencies around Akasaka and Roppongi. We also work with regional managers in Osaka and Fukuoka, plus pro talent reps who handle performers in Toei period dramas at Kyoto's Uzumasa Eigamura. That access is what separates a workable schedule from a stalled call sheet, since shoots so often juggle high-profile leads alongside global guest cast.

On the ground, we book Shinkansen seats between regional sites, hold hotel blocks in Shibuya or Namba, and time hair and makeup chair calls. We also follow the precise courtesy rules that shape green rooms on Japanese sets. Global cast get visa support through the Status of Residence frame, cultural briefings, and bilingual liaison across each shoot day.

Daily call sheets are squared with agency needs and union-style talent rules. Meal breaks, late-hours windows, and chaperone plans for younger performers all get logged in advance. This frees Directors and ADs to focus on performance, not forms.

On set, our liaison stays with the cast through the day. We run holding areas, time wardrobe fittings, and book hair and makeup chairs so no one waits idle. Bilingual support carries notes between a global director and Japanese performers without friction. For high-profile leads, we plan quiet green-room access and tight arrival timing. The aim is simple. Talent reach the floor calm, prepared, and on the exact call the schedule needs.

Admin runs in the background so the floor stays clear. We track per diems, confirm contract terms with each agency, and gather signed paperwork before the first setup. At wrap, we close out travel, settle ground transport, and return any held items. Follow-up bookings for pickups or post work are flagged early. Producers then hand off to post with a clean record and no loose ends across the Japanese shoot.
