SCENE 01 / POWER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS
Power Distribution Systems
Safe, reliable on-set power for film and TV production in Japan.
Power distribution systems route current safely from generators or mains to your set. They feed lighting, camera, and production gear across the whole crew. Pro distro boxes, cable runs, and breaker panels keep loads balanced and properly grounded. Each department gets safe, clean power.
We supply power distribution systems built around your set layout and electrical needs. Our team works with your gaffer and best boy. Together they make sure the right capacity, cable lengths, and safety gear are in place at each location on your schedule.

Safe Production Power Distribution Across Japan
Shoots in Japan trust our power distribution teams to move current safely. The chain runs from generators or a mains tie-in to each department. That job might be a 200kW HMI rig on a Shinjuku rooftop. It might be a quiet battery-hybrid setup inside a Kyoto temple, or a tow-plant generator on a remote Hokkaido exterior.
We source super-silent generators from 20kVA to 500kVA. Our team also pulls main distros, sub-distribution, lunchboxes, feeder cable, and stage pin systems. These come from Hibino, Tac System, and Nagase Brothers. All of it is PAT-tested, has RCD cover, and is rated for the load.
Each system is built for the site's limits. Tokyo humidity can leave connectors damp, so we ship sealed boxes and lifted cable runs. Sub-zero Hokkaido needs cold-rated cabling and fuel-line warmers. Okinawa salt air corrodes pin systems, so those connectors go out treated.
Historic Yokohama and Fukuoka venues need non-marking ramps that respect heritage surfaces. Our licensed Japanese sparks handle tie-ins to venue power, phase balance, load checks, and circuit cover. They work closely with your gaffer and best boy. From a single 60kVA on an Osaka commercial to a multi-generator feature in Hokkaido, we deliver power that is quiet, clean, and safe for the whole crew.
The distribution plan follows the production type. A Netflix Japan feature with a heavy HMI rig wants multi-generator coordination and deep sub-distribution. A TBS studio drama often runs on a venue tie-in with balanced phases. A doc unit roaming Hokkaido leans on a compact silent plant and battery hybrid. We run a full load calculation from your lighting, camera, DIT, and video village draw, add headroom for start-up surges, then build the cable runs and breaker panels each scene truly needs.
Rental logistics stay clear. We deliver and install distribution rigs on sets across Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, with regional runs and fuel planning for remote exteriors. Our English-and-Japanese coordinators keep visiting gaffers and best boys briefed at each step. Generators, distros, cable, and licensed electricians are quoted in JPY, with the 10 percent consumption tax shown as its own line. You approve the full power cost before any cable is run.
FAQ
Power Distribution Expertise
What generator sizes do you provide?
We supply generators from 20kVA to 500kVA, including super-silent units for sound-sensitive shoots. For larger power needs we run multi-generator setups, plus battery hybrid systems and tow plant units that suit many location needs.
How do you calculate power requirements?
We run detailed load calculations from your lighting package, camera and DIT needs, video village, and every other electrical draw. Our team also factors in startup loads. We then add the right headroom for safe, reliable operation.
Can you provide power at historic locations?
Yes. We specialize in powering shoots at Japan's historic locations, from temples and shrines to churches and covered sites. Our team works to each venue's needs and routes cabling that does no damage. Every job stays in line with preservation guidelines.
Do you handle tie-ins to venue power?
We set up tie-ins to venue electrical systems where it makes sense. This work runs through licensed Japanese electricians and venue tech staff. Our crew checks the power on hand and arranges short-term connections. We then make sure the disconnect after your shoot is safe.
What about power for remote locations?
For remote exteriors without mains power, we supply full generator solutions that cover fuel management, noise control, and multi-day operation. Our team plans the logistics so the power stays on right across your shoot.
How do you ensure electrical safety on set?
All gear is PAT tested and well rated. We use RCD protection throughout, hire licensed electricians, and follow Japanese electrical safety rules. Detailed records and safety briefings keep the crew aware at all times.
