SCENE 01 / WIRELESS AUDIO SYSTEMS

Wireless Audio Systems

Professional wireless microphones and RF coordination for productions throughout Japan.

Scroll

Wireless audio systems send microphone signals, intercom feeds, and tracking audio across the set without cables. We set up frequencies that meet MIC rules at sites across Japan, working within Japan's frequency bands and taming RF noise in dense Tokyo. Digital wireless gives clean, steady audio, so talent can move freely and the sound team stays flexible on tricky shoots.

We source wireless systems with the channel count and frequency planning your production needs across Japan. Our team runs range scans that meet MIC frequency rules, sets up the gear, and packs backup units, so your wireless audio stays free of interference no matter how tough the site.

On Location

RF-Coordinated Wireless Audio Across Japan

Wireless work in Japan lives or dies by frequency planning. Tokyo's dense urban range, the broadcast traffic around Shibuya and Roppongi, and the packed calendars at venues like Pacifico Yokohama and Tokyo Big Sight all demand serious RF prep. None of it can wait until talent is being wired.

Our sound teams scan the range on location and build channel maps that respect MIC and Japanese broadcast slots. They then deploy the newest digital systems from Lectrosonics, Wisycom, Sennheiser, and Audio Ltd. Proven analog rigs are still on hand for shoots that prefer them.

Packages scale from two-channel doc kits working out of Kyoto and Osaka up to forty-plus channel rigs on features and large commercials. The big rigs ship across Hokkaido and Honshu. Lavaliers from DPA, Sanken, and Countryman get hidden in costume by trained utility sound techs.

IFB systems from Comtek, Lectrosonics, and Shure PSM keep directors, talent, and broadcast feeds in sync. Whether you need one bodypack for a Ginza interview or a stadium-scale wireless plot, we own the range problem. Your shoot stays clean, legal, and on schedule from prep through final wrap.

Big wireless rigs and the techs who run them follow Japan's production calendar. Channel-heavy packages book out fast across Golden Week in May and the Obon week in August, so we reserve receivers and operators well ahead. Operator rates track the Japanese Labor Standards Act, keeping shoot length and overtime compliant. Each quote lists the 10 percent consumption tax in JPY, with English-language liaison kept open through frequency planning, talent wiring, and final wrap.

Clean wireless capture protects the dialogue edit downstream. Isolated, interference-free channels give post houses such as Tac System and OmnibusJapan, or the audio rooms at Imagica, separated tracks to work from. A multi-talent Roppongi scene and a single-presenter Osaka interview then conform cleanly. Tight RF discipline on set means fewer dropouts to repair. Editors then spend their time on the mix, not rescuing lines lost to a crowded spectrum.

FAQ

Wireless Equipment Inventory

What wireless systems do you provide?

We supply pro wireless systems from top makers, including Lectrosonics (Digital Hybrid, DSQD), Wisycom (MCR series), Sennheiser (Digital 6000, EW series), and Audio Ltd (A10). Which system we pick depends on your needs, budget, and the site.

How do you handle frequency coordination in Japan?

We plan frequencies to match the Japanese RF rules (ANFR). That means we scan the range at your sites, coordinate with other shoots sharing the venue, and keep you inside licensed frequency bands. Our team handles the tech detail so your shoot stays legal and free of interference.

What lavalier microphones do you recommend?

We supply premium lavaliers from DPA (4060, 4061, 6060), Sanken (COS-11), and Countryman (B6). The right mic depends on the job, so we advise based on how well it hides, how it sounds, and how it works with wardrobe and talent.

Can you support large multi-channel productions?

Yes. We often back shoots that need 20, 30, or 40+ wireless channels, such as feature films, large commercials, and live events. We bring the frequency plan, enough receivers, backup systems, and skilled operators to run big wireless setups.

What about IFB and communication systems?

We supply IFB (interruptible foldback) systems for talent earpieces, director communications, and live broadcast feeds. These include Comtek, Lectrosonics IFB, and Shure PSM systems, all tuned to your wireless microphone frequencies.

Do wireless systems come with operators?

You can rent wireless gear on its own or with skilled sound teams who run all the wireless for you. For big setups, we advise bringing operators who focus on RF planning and talent wiring.

Productions in Japan that need this often pair it with Boom Operators, Sound Recordist Teams, and Location Sound Services for full coverage. Most projects also draw on Wireless Microphone Systems and Wireless Systems.
