SCENE 01 / MULTI CAMERA SHOOTS

Multi-Camera Production Services

Professional multi-cam crews and equipment for live events, TV production, and complex shoots across Japan.

Scroll

Multi-camera shoots use two or more cameras at once to catch a scene from many angles. This boosts coverage and keeps the action matched from take to take. The format is standard for interviews, live events, and dialogue scenes, and it suits any shoot where repeated takes are hard or impossible. We run it from live broadcasts at NHK and Fuji TV studios in Tokyo to concerts at Osaka-Jo Hall.

We build multi-camera setups scaled to your production, with matching camera bodies, lenses, and monitor kit. Our team draws on Japan's top-tier setup, from Toho Studios to the broadcast venues across Tokyo's Minato ward. We tie every camera together cleanly, so your director and editor get full coverage from each angle.

Multi-Camera Capture Across Japan's Live Venues

Multi-camera coverage is the workhorse format for Japan's broadcast and live-event calendar.

It runs talk shows feeding NHK and Fuji TV in Minato ward, J-pop concerts at Tokyo Dome and Yokohama Arena, panel sessions inside Pacifico Yokohama and Osaka's INTEX hall, and award broadcasts out of Shibuya. Our directors and vision mixers grew up through this world. They know how to balance roaming hand-held cameras against locked-off jib and Steadicam units, and they hit the cues a Japanese producer expects. Across a full day of rehearsals and live transmission, our team keeps on-screen graphics, IMAG feeds, and streaming encoders in sync.

On the tech layer we pull matched camera bodies from Hibino, Sony PCL, and Imagica. That covers Sony HDC-3500 system cameras, Panasonic VariCam, and Sony FX9 for ENG positions, plus tracking jibs and Steadicam when the format calls for movement.

Multi-bitrate streaming, ISO recording to RAID, and full backup on power, communications, and vision mixing all come as standard. We can take you from three-camera interview setups in a Kyoto ryokan up to twelve-camera concert builds at Budokan. Engineering, communications, and rehearsal time get scoped from the first tech recce through wrap.

Japan's event calendar shapes how we crew and book venues. Golden Week in early May and the Obon week in August drive peak concert and festival demand at Tokyo Dome and Yokohama Arena. Crew and gear book out fast. We lock dates well ahead and scope crew hours around the Japanese Labor Standards Act, with proper turnaround between a late live transmission and the next call.

After wrap, we hand off clean. ISO files arrive logged and frame-synced, ready to conform in DaVinci Resolve. The line cut comes with its switcher EDL and a Rec.709 or HDR grade reference, so your editor in Tokyo or abroad rebuilds nothing. Live streams archive at full bitrate for re-edit. English-language coordination runs from the first venue recce through final delivery and any post support you need.

FAQ

Technical Capabilities

How many cameras can you deploy for multi-cam productions?

We often run 3-12 camera setups, and we can scale past that for major events. A typical build uses 3 cameras for interviews, 5-7 for corporate events, and 8-12+ for concerts and live shows.

Do you provide live switching or ISO recording?

We offer both. Live switching gives a real-time edited feed for streaming or IMAG, while ISO recording captures each camera on its own for post-prod flexibility. Most shoots use a mix of the two.

Can you integrate with existing venue systems?

Yes. Our tech teams are skilled at tying into venue audio, house lighting, in-place video setups, and broadcast facilities. Each survey we run maps out what the integration will need.

What's included in multi-cam production packages?

A package usually covers cameras, operators, a vision mixer or director, a tech manager, tracking, communications, cabling, and recording or switching gear. We can add audio, lighting, and streaming to suit the venue.

How much setup time is required for multi-cam productions?

Setup time scales with the build. A 3-4 camera rig mostly needs 3-4 hours, 5-7 cameras need 4-6 hours, and 8+ camera setups can take a full day. We always leave time for a tech rehearsal before going live.

Can you provide live streaming alongside multi-cam recording?

Yes. We stream straight to platforms such as YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, LinkedIn, and custom RTMP targets. Multi-bitrate encoding and CDN delivery keep the feed smooth for large audiences.

Productions in Japan that need this often pair it with Time-lapse & Hyperlapse, Director of Photography Services, and Steadicam & Gimbal Operators for full coverage. Most projects also draw on Location Sound Services and Virtual Reality Filming.
